Throughout my life I have encountered a number of brilliant thinkers who hold opinions that lie to the left and right of my political persuasion. I have had lively debates, if not outright arguments about race and the role that it plays in our society — in healthcare, education, labor laws, and our criminal justice system. Beyond race, I have discussed topics covering the environment, women’s rights, the LGBTQ+ community and most recently pandemics — amongst a number of additional issues that seem to divide America into two separate factions, conservative and liberal. These discussions have put me in contact with people who have challenged my understanding of American society in a way that has molded me into the person that I am now. The articles that are posted on this website are a culmination of my thoughts on the divisive issues that plague America. The articles generally highlight the perspective of those who are the minority. It is my hope that his blog will either provide you with a new understanding of an issue that you are unfamiliar with, or help you better understand concepts that you are familiar with but cannot quite articulate. The only thing that I ask of readers is to show respect for one another. If we can do that, we can get through anything.
